REC/reate is a technologically avant-garde project that combines digital fabrication (in its most eco-friendly form) and traditional practices, putting technology and design at the service of creativity.
One of the creative, ethical and sustainable project outputs is a textile hand-weaving loom tailored to people with disabilities who become protagonists of artistic creation and craftsmanship.
The objective of the project is to stimulate the acquisition of technical skills through active participation of people with disabilities in artistic activities in collaboration with artisans, designers, technology experts and makers.
The textile weaving loom is partially automated using technologies to simplify the weaving activities making it engaging and creative.
