The project experiments with the use of 3D modeling, 3D printing and laser cutting technology to improve the planning of vascular surgery, with particular reference to applications in non-invasive endovascular surgery like EVAR (EndoVascular Aneurysm Repair). By developing 3D models of the aortic abdominal aneurysmatic segment, the project defines customization and adaptation methods of the endoprosthesis to the anatomy of the individual patient. The project also develops 3D models of the abdominal aorta for educational purposes.
